I like stability.

I like something that’s strong, enduring, that stands on its own and will stand the test of time.

I work with clay slabs.

My slabs are thick. My clay frames are durable.

It’s the most technical part of my work. I live with the clay slab every day and discover what it will and won’t do. I piece the frames together with thoughtful dedication.

I think about creating cracks and crevices when I’m working. I know I can come back later and fill them with tiles. But mostly, I think about strength, structure and durability.

It’s the skeleton of my work, the steel fame that supports the building, the strong bones that support the body.

I like stability.
